Hey, hi, hello! It’s Small Business Saturday! I so appreciate your support over the years. I love that I’m able to do custom weddings and events, classes around town (back in person - yay!), as well as have a little online shop. Currently the shop is updated with holiday wreath options. I’ve been making wreaths for over 7 years, and each one is made with love and a lot of thoughtfulness. That’s how it works over here at UNA headquarters.

Today through Monday, the 29th they are 10% off! Discount is automatically applied. Wreaths ordered this weekend will be available for pick-up or local delivery this Monday.

Whoa - it’s month 14 of Covid. It’s been a wild time, but my family and I have been safe and healthy, and we (the adults) are now vaccinated. We are so incredibly lucky and I am humbled.

I have some drafts of journal entries that I will get to, I’m adding new images to my site and my little shop (thank you, Lone Agency/Egan Parks!) and I’m booking weddings for dear clients again. This beauty of an image was taken by Josh Anderson, and styled by Maxine of Memor Studio and me. This still feels fresh and new and exciting to me, even though we did this back in March. I also worked on some projects for Landor / P&G and Hyperquake this year. Styling flowers is a natural extension of the kind of work I do. I’d love to do more of this kind of beautiful work & I’m adding personal styling projects to my to-do list…

Holiday Happenings

Oh my! Ok, so I’m not the best at posting here. I keep things current on Instagram, but I’ll try to dust off this page on a regular basis!

So, it’s been a busy holiday season which I am very thankful for. It’s nice to switch gears and really focus on wreaths and getting out into the community of small business owners and the people that support us. I did several classes at Fern (always & forever), as well as at the Church of the Redeemer, Taft Museum, and Oakley Wines. I really love leading these classes and meeting the people that take them. I also
sold wreaths at Holiday Markets at Fern, Spruce and the last one is coming up tomorrow at Parlour.
Please join me and some of my very favorites! You know I’ll be bringing those mini wreaths with me.

Camera

I have a nice DSLR camera, it's just kind of old and still intimidating to me. But I started using it recently to take photos of my flowers. It's a nice change up from the ol' iPhone. Here are some (unedited) photos of spring flowers - the best.

Wreaths!

I can't believe this marks my third wreath season. I really love making wreaths, and I'm always looking for new ingredients to add to the fragrant evergreens that signify a festive holiday season, or, 'Damn, it's really cold out!'. I'll be leading a sold-out wreath making class at Fern next weekend, and will have wreaths for sale there, here on my site and the following weekend (Dec. 10) at Idlewild. UNA wreaths will be all around town this December!

Also, this season I'm compelled to give back more than ever, locally and nationally. I will be donating 20% of all wreath sales — 10% to Design for Progress (read all about this amazing fundraiser by Sight Unseen here) 
and 10% to WordPlay. an awesome non-profit organization right in my neighborhood.

Mother's Day Market | UNAxFERN + AlexDavis.Photography

I feel super lucky that I get to call fellow mothers / entrepreneurs Megan of  @fernshopcincinnati and Ally of @alexdavis.photography my good friends and supporters — not to mention all around bad-ass ladies. I love working and collaborating with them and this Saturday, May 7 we're uniting at FERN. We want to celebrate all the encouraging, loving, deserving mothers out there! Ally will be conducting mini portrait sessions of mothers and kids (how awesome! finally, moms, you get to be IN the photo and a stunning photo at that), I'll have little hand-tied bouquets and local flowers for sale and we'll have bites and sips for you while you shop.

Whoa! It's 2016 (15 days in!) and Valentine's Day is around the corner. This past week Megan and I got to work playing and photographing beautiful flowers in anticipation of the holiday. I can't believe a little over a year has passed since I started this flower adventure! I have a lot to update you on, including my experience at Kelly Perry's Team Flower Workshop this past April. It was amazing and inspiring, and I met so many wonderful flower friends. I look at the above photos and think "Wow - I made that!!". Awesome.

Wreath season is almost over and I will miss it. Really, I will.. I had a great time this month leading two workshops, one at Fern Studio (a spring one is coming in 2015!) and another one at the Contemporary Arts Center. I just made a final one for my family's front door and now it's time to celebrate the season and the coming year. Happy Holidays, all!
